Boys Forever

Wistful sun-dappled psychedelia offers a sanctuary for erstwhile Veronica Falls rocker Patrick Doyle on this debut album. And it’s a grin-widening burst of nostalgia from the lo-fi ‘60s kick of “Poisonous” onwards. “I Don’t Remember Your Name” is a gorgeous paisley-printed waltz, “Cold Is the Colour” spills over with hypnotic harmonies and “If You Don’t Mind” hitches party-weary ennui to a radio-ready whirl of bouncing melody and beachside guitars.
