Dream Wife

Dream Wife began, in their own words, as a “fake girl band” art project before deciding that being a real band might not be so different. Their self-titled debut is a confident fusion of punk, pop and garage rock—turning art into reality in an A+ performance. Fiery and full of feminine solidarity, their punchy lyrics, particularly on “Somebody”, ward off objectification: “I am not my body/I am somebody”. The glossy guitar-pop of “Fire” and starry-eyed indie of “Spend the Night” provide tenderness next to the fury of their punk anthems (“F.U.U.”). Prepare for a riot—Dream Wife have arrived.
