Friends on Mushrooms (Deluxe Edition)

Compiling three EPs and adding new tracks like the proggy epic "Kafkaf" and the Middle Eastern-flavored "Kazabubu", Friends on Mushrooms finds Israel's Infected Mushroom twisting psy-trance into wild new shapes. Dubstep upstart Savant helps out on "Savant on Mushrooms", in which melancholy vocals preface twitchy rhythmic trickery and take-no-prisoners hardstyle; Pegboard Nerds bring more kinetic dubstep to the table, while "Mambacore" fuses slap bass with moombahton and "Bass Nipple" balances electro-house stomp with progressive touches. Throughout, chord changes dazzle, and the sound design is as detailed as a glimpse through an electron microscope.
