Frank (Deluxe Edition)

As audacious as it is bleak, Amy Winehouse’s debut LP, Frank, is the work of a tortured soul. In an anguished rasp of a voice that scats and wails late into the night, Winehouse cradles herself in cathartic blues and self-pity (“Amy Amy Amy”), mocks the desperation of others (“F**k Me Pumps”) and struggles with love's affliction over a deep R&B groove (“What Is It About Men”). With its beautifully raw, soulful, jazz-inspired edge, Frank reveals a hopeless romantic who knows that true bravery can’t come without some painful honesty.
