Considering the whole of CHVRCHES' production rig comprises a few keyboards and a microphone, it's hard to imagine the Glaswegian trio paring down their sound any further. But that's just what they've done on Every Open Eye, and it's made their attack all the more powerful. Lead singer Lauren Mayberry's lilting voice sears and soars on these existential odes to breaking up and wising up.
