Life Love Flesh Blood (Deluxe)

Drawing on the breakdown of her marriage, the Irish singer/songwriter delivers a magnetically intimate fifth album. Recruiting T Bone Burnett as producer, May crafts a more sedate, rootsier sound than the rockabilly of previous records. Her voice has rarely been so expressive as she journeys from heartbroken despair on the Jeff Beck-enhanced blues of “Black Tears” to the bruised resolve of the revitalising, rocky “Game Changer” and “Love and Fear”.
