Today We Rebel

True to the defiance in its title, KB’s Today We Rebel bristles with energy and ideas, steely bangers and trap beats. The rapper is joined here by a number of like-minded contemporaries, including Lecrae and Andy Mineo, and he maintains high intensity throughout these 14 tracks. Plus, he’s got a lot on his mind: “Not Today Satan” considers the everyday tricks of the devil—including an overemphasis on politics—while “New Portrait” simultaneously rejects white supremacy and affirms that Christ’s reign transcends earthly ethnicity. Thoughtful and visceral at the same time.
