Seguimos Avanzando

For música Mexicana stars Marca MP, forward momentum is key to success. Their progressive hitmaking streak met with tragedy when frontman Chato was in a car accident that left him unable to walk for some time. Though the road to recovery included its share of setbacks, he persevered and set the group back on track with 2021’s DEV, Vol. 2 and this eight-song successor. He addresses the near-death experience and his subsequent takeaways on opener “Pa’ Contarla”, giving thanks to God and revealing disdain for the snakes who showed themselves at his lowest moments. With that behind him, he returns to penning and singing high-quality corridos like “Hombre De Respeto” and “Sigo Al Frente”, songs where one can’t help but see his own lived experiences being mirrored. On the comparatively more spirited “Soy Alegre”, there is a sense of joy in his writing and delivery, a reminder of what can be found on the other side of darkness.
