Amazulu

One-time Idols South Africa contestant Amanda Black is a bona fide sensation. Now she's primed to set the musical world ablaze. Her sensuous debut, Amazulu, blends U.S. R&B production with Afropop polyrhythms and glinting hints of jazz. Luscious rhythmic cadences and serpentine melodies bubble beneath a remarkable voice—Black's vocals combine the range of Alicia Keys with the natural allure of Jill Scott to effervescent effect.
