Raw Power (50th Anniversary Legacy Edition)

On an album that sounds exactly as the title suggests it does, Iggy & The Stooges helped lay the groundwork for all punk rock to come. “Gimme Danger” is a track of subtle begging, an acoustic guitar dancing along its spine, blending with a cowbell and light drums. Conversely, “Search and Destroy” beckons the end of the world with howling vocals about napalm and self-destruction. Raw Power is a thrilling mash-up of uneven sounds, crafted by a band on the edge.
