Crusts (Original Soundtrack) - EP

Director India Sleem’s 2025 short film Crusts tells the story of Paris, a mixed-race girl who overhears her friend Jade making disparaging comments about her hair, prompting a soul-searching journey along the fine line between cultural identity and conformity. On her accompanying score, Montreal’s Ouri forgoes the fidgety dream-pop futurism of her own records for brief ambient vignettes that conjure both the joy and confusion of being young, with the wordless choral vocal loop of “Love in Lungs” undulating like waves lapping on the shore at sunset, and the piano-led gospel spiritual “Your Heart” packing all the purifying power of a Sunday church service into just over a minute.
