About
A ranchera-centric performance, with several esteemed guests.
No stranger to the live album, Régulo Caro boasts no fewer than a half dozen such recordings in his discography. Combine that with his demonstrated affinity for launching projects as series and you end up with “De Rancho en Rancho” Vol. 1 Edicion: Guasave.
As the title suggests, the roughly half-hour-long effort leans heavily on that particular side of his sound. Staples from the veteran singer’s catalogue like “25 De Diciembre”, “Vengo a reclamarte” and “El Barón del Desierto” receive fresh new versions with the assistance of Revolver Cannabis, La Ventaja and Hans El Oso, respectively. A skilled student of the genre, he digs deep into the ranchera songbook for “Besos del papel”, aided by Los Hijos De Hernández.
The delightfully raucous “La fea” with La Séptima Banda matches the exciting secret of its story with rhythmically exuberant panache, and the esteemed guests return for the poetic, bombastic closer “A Cada Rato”.
