come.back.down.x.recovery - EP

When Nashville experimental pop duo Total Wife was putting the finishing touches on its 2025 album, come back down, disaster struck: Composer/producer Luna Kupper’s hard drive failed, destroying the music she was working on for Total Wife and other projects. A data-recovery service sent back 25,000 unnamed files that, Kupper said, sounded like “a rotted screaming mass of different sounds and tracks digi-melted together as if the hard drive did a harsh noise remix of itself.” Instead of trashing them, though, she decided to use them as the basis for an EP of collaborations with her and lyricist/vocalist Ash Richter’s friends and associates, including noise-gaze outfit They Are Gutting a Body of Water, who slow down the come back down track “peaches” into a narcotic haze, and electro-dream duo Full Body 2, who rework “make it last” into a bass-heavy, churning fantasia.
